Room 9 - Hemingway / Queen Suites$149-169 per night
This beautiful first-floor room is furnished with a queen-sized replica of the bed Ernest Hemingway kept in his Ketchum, ID home.
Ernest Hemingway first came to Sun Valley, Idaho, as a guest of the newly-formed Sun Valley Company in 1939. That first year he and Martha Gellhorn stayed at the Sun Valley Lodge, nicknaming it "The Glamour Room." It was in that room that Hemingway finished his book For Whom the Bell Tolls. He also established some of the lifelong friendships that would continue to draw him back to the area for 25 years.
This bedroom is located on the main level for our guests that don't want to climb the stairs and it boasts the only vaulted ceilings in the Inn. The room has a separate main floor entrance and doors that close to the main portion of the Inn.
Furnishings include the "Hemingway" bed, a chair, bench, a 32" flatscreen cable TV in an armoire, a walk-in closet and an A/C unit which keeps the room cool in the hot summer days. The private en-suite bathroom features a shower and tub.
We have just recently made this room available to accommodate our guests that prefer to travel with their dog. Please call the Inn directly at 208-788-6354 to make arrangements for you and your pet! NOTE: Pets must remain under owner's control at all times.
